In terms of producing areas, Fujian, Henan, Jiangxi, Guangdong, Hubei and Shandong provinces are the main producing areas of marble in China. In 2008, the output of marble plates in the above six provinces was 20110000 square meters, accounting for 79.0% of the total national output.
China's stone trade is mainly based on the import of stone blocks and the export of stone products. In terms of varieties, China's marble and sandstone are net imports, while granite, slate and stone powder are net exports. In terms of amount, China's marble trade has always been in surplus. This is mainly due to the trade status of marble in China, that is, by importing marble blocks with low added value, and then processing them into marble stones with high added value for export.
Marble originally refers to the white limestone with black patterns produced in Dali, Yunnan Province. The profile can form a natural ink landscape painting. In ancient times, marble with shaped patterns was often selected to make screen or mosaic paintings.
Later, the name of marble gradually developed to call all kinds of limestone with various colors and patterns used as building decoration materials. White marble is generally called white marble, but it is also called marble for the white marble used to make statues in Europe and USA.
Three major producing areas of marble in China?
After 2000, the most active marble mining was in Asia. First of all, China's natural marble industry has developed rapidly since the reform and opening up, with about 27000 stone enterprises and 5 million employees.
The stone resources in China are all over the north and south of the Yangtze River, inside and outside the Great Wall, and more than 30 provinces, cities and autonomous regions have stone resources and have been developed. From Mongolian black from Inner Mongolia to Yazhou red from Hainan Province; From Dandong Green in Liaoning Province to Tianshan Blue in Xinjiang, the stone reserves are very rich, and the famous and special varieties are among the top in the world.
There are more than 3000 mining sites and 1000 varieties in China, Mainly concentrated in coastal provinces. The output of Shandong, Zhejiang, Fujian, Guangdong, Guangxi and other five provinces and autonomous regions accounts for nearly 70% of the national granite output.
China is extremely rich in marble mineral resources, with large reserves and many varieties, and its total reserves rank among the top in the world. According to incomplete statistics, there are nearly 400 varieties of domestic marble, including the following rare varieties.

Pure white Stone: Beijing Fangshan white marble; Anhui Huaining and Guichi white marble; Hebei Quyang and Laiyuan white marble; Sichuan Baoxing Shu white jade; Jiangsu Ganyu white marble; Cangshan white marble in Dali, Yunnan; Shandong Pingdu and Laizhou Snow White; Longnan Longbai Jade; Hezhou Bai, Hezhou, Guangxi, etc.
2. Pure black Stone: Guilin black in Guilin, Guangxi; Shaoyang black marble, Hunan; Cangshan Moyu, Shandong Jinxing King; Henan Anyang Moyu Black, etc.
3. Red Stone: Anhui Lingbi Red Anhui Snail; Nanjiang red in Nanjiang, Sichuan; Laishui red in Laishui, Hebei, and Fuping red in Fuping; Northeast Red in Tieling, Liaoning, etc.
4. Gray Stone: Iceland gray in Longnan, Gansu; Hangzhou ash in Hangzhou, Zhejiang; Yunnan Dali cloud ash, etc.
5. Yellow Stone: Henan Zhechuan rosin yellow, rosin jade; Beige in Taoxi Town; Beichuan beige marble in Sichuan Province; Sichuan Baoxing topaz, etc.
6. The green ones are: Dandong green in Dandong, Liaoning; Laiyang green in Laiyang, Shandong, and Hailangyu in Qixia; Bibo, Huaining, Anhui, etc.
7. Colorful textured stones include: spring flowers, autumn flowers and ink and wash flowers in Yunnan; Plum blossom on a snowy night in Quzhou, Zhejiang, etc.
8. Blue and white jade in Baoxing, Sichuan.
